# Does the product store passwords?

The Hitachi ID Identity Manager database does not permanently house user passwords. During password synchronization, the new/desired value of a user’s password may be stored in a queue table. This is temporary and encrypted. When creating new accounts for a user, passwords for new accounts are stored in both a request and transaction table. These values are encrypted and generally the passwords are changed soon after accounts are created, making the data in the database obsolete. Read more here: https://hitachi-id.com
