# Does Identity Manager just provision a basic login account, or can it also create home directories, mail folders, assign groups/roles, etc.?

Hitachi ID Identity Manager connectors can generally read from and write to all account attributes and group memberships on each target system. This means that once someone has been provisioned or moved, no further, manual action is required. Some systems support or require additional steps, which are also automated. This includes placement into a correct OU, assigning appropriate access rights to home directories and mail folders, moving mailboxes and home directories between servers, etc. Read more here: https://hitachi-id.com
