There are many professionals who have been with Quark since version 3 and for whom the platform has served them well.

I'm using it. I may eventually have to use it to actually lay out books and magazines, but at this point, I'm using it to convert InDesign files to epubs, and once I finally was able to get it lined out, it is creating great ones. I can't say this program is intuitive (especially as I've used InDesign/PageMaker since the 90s and it's become second nature) but I have hopes I may actually be able to do an entire print book or magazine in the distant future if I no longer have a working InDesign.

QuarkXPress continues to be a standard in the graphic design industry. The software is constantly updating to meet the needs of its users. And, it has one huge advantage over InDesign these days: it's a single purchase price, not a monthly or annual license!

Absolutely. In fact, I have used Quark daily since the 1990s!

### Comment 5

Yes. Those of us who first understood non-computerized typesetting (hot lead poured into molds) and then the early days of offset printing appreciate that in the first days of QuarkXPress it was developed as the closest thing to what we call "real" typesetting with all of the applicable rules of the trade. That tradition has continued and been improved upon as QuarkXPress still "has the feel" of typesetting versus the freestyle adopted by other, lesser programs. For a purist and traditionalist, QuarkXPress is the only choice.
