Yes, I definitely recommend Vegas Pro. It's an awesome, easy to use, easy to learn editor. Much better than the Adobe counter parts. Not having been trained at all in video editing, I was able to pick it up and run with it with very little help. It just works and is intuitive. It has a good amount of features available to editors out of the box. I also use it for mixing sounds and songs as well, so it doesn't have to be used exclusively for video editing.

This is the BEST software for video editing. It runs stand alone, and allows everyone from beginners to advanced users to pretty much do what they need to do in order to produce good videos!
