# Do I need a visitor kiosk or additional hardware to use Kisi's Visitor Management?

We want to modernize our visitor experience, but we're not sure whether that means installing kiosks or other hardware at every entrance. We're looking for the most flexible deployment option.

No. Visitor kiosks and tablets are not required. Visitor self-check-in and visitor logs can be managed without additional hardware. 

However, for organizations that want a dedicated check-in experience, Kisi offers Kisi Kiosk Pro, a self-service kiosk solution for visitor registration and check-in. You can also use an iPad or another compatible tablet as a visitor kiosk.

Additional hardware may be needed for specific workflows:
- Controller Pro 2 for unlocking with access links delivered by email or SMS
- Terminal Pro for QR code entry and guest card access
- Reader Pro 2 for mobile unlocks without actively using the mobile app and card-based visitor access
- Compatible badge printer for visitor badges
- Intercom Pro for visual verification and remote unlocking of unannounced visitors

This flexibility allows organizations to choose the setup that best matches their visitor management needs.
