Boy howdy is it challenging. As a self-employed biz guy, finding software is tough. The biggest thing I have trouble with is getting a true feel for the program to make sure it lives up to the expectation. I am so tired of using software for a "free trial" when it really isn't a trial. You get added to the top tier of the software with all the bells and whistles. After the trial is over, the truth reveals itself, and you're left with a piece of tech that shadows in comparison to the one you tried. You then have to pay so much more to get access to the features. I know that's how it works with most places, but dang, just give us access to what we are interested in, and if we click a button or search for a feature, inform us that it's part of a higher plan and give us the option to choose a different plan.

Go-To-Meeting? That's a name I haven't heard in ages. They're still around?

Also, idea for the developers: threaded comments and the tagging of a user or quoting.

That's a really great point Brian! I'm even thinking of some of the free trials I've signed up for that haven't been as upfront and honest from the beginning. One thing that is helpful with the compare tool with G2 is that you're able to see pros vs. cons when comparing two alike softwares. In this example, you can see Zoom vs. Go-To-Meeting and some of the benefits of each. However, added clarity in reviews is always helpful to know what isn't meeting quality standards! https://www.g2.com/compare/goto-meeting-vs-zoom

Yes, there will always be challenges.

I make sure to get a (extensive, approx 2 hour) demo, have it recorded (convenient for both parties). During the demo I have an (trial, all features active) account(s) made for me (and/or team-members).

Plan a follow-up session (within 2 weeks) to go over questions I/team (might) have.

I provide my/team questions (2 workdays) before the follow-up session.

Product (work-process impact) depending, additional sessions could/would be planned.

Best,

Mark
