# Cease and desist vs demand letter — which gets faster results?

I've been experimenting with different types of letters for various dispute scenarios using SueLetter. From my experience, cease and desist letters seem to elicit quicker responses, especially in cases involving intellectual property or harassment. On the other hand, standard demand letters appear to be more effective for payment disputes.

I'm curious if anyone else has compared response rates between these two letter types. Additionally, what tone do you find most effective—firm, assertive, or a final warning—when trying to get a timely response?
