To improve the security of this software, you should first think about making your Google account more secure. Therefore, more secure passwords to complicate access to this, is the main strategy to follow. Today Google has developed more complex mechanisms to access accounts from unrecognized locations or devices, so security has been improved in this regard. Regarding the security of your shared files, you can share files with few people using an access link or directly control the privacy of your files or folders.
