# Can Password Manager assist users who lost a hardware token, left it at home or forgot their PIN?

TOTP https://www.otp2.org/ is a secure alternative to a password, especially for business users. Unlike a password, which can be hacked, TOTPs are generated with a standardized algorithm that is not prone to brute force attacks. The TOTP token devices can be part of a separate data store or part of a user's identity store.

Users with RSA SecurID tokens can use Hitachi ID Password Manager for PIN reset or to clear forgotten PINs, to resynchronize their token clock with the RSA Authentication Manager, to enable or disable their token and to get emergency access pass-codes. Read more here: https://hitachi-id.com
