# Can OneSite Patch prevent a specific software version from being updated across certain business units?

Yes, using the Last Allowed Version option in Patching Exceptions. For example, if Java (JDK) should not be updated beyond version 17, you add Java 17 to the Last Allowed Version Patches list in the Patching Exception for the targeted Business Unit. OneSite Patch will ensure no version beyond 17 is installed on devices in that Business Unit.
