Absolutely. Perfect for basic drawings that you want in 2D.

YES! Visio is my "go-to" application for drawing diagrams. 

It's drag-n-drop libraries of shapes, etc. make it effortless to create professional looking diagrams, etc.

The learning curve is easy, and the application has a lot of great features.

Definitely makes it easier than freehand drawing :-)
