Blockchain is all set to become an indispensable aspect of the automotive industry in the future. Modern vehicles have turned into mobile data centers with onboard computers and sensors, transmitting information about the vehicle in real-time. Blockchain can ensure traceability for the cars damaged due to floods or accidents for its secure, highly transparent, and accessible nature. One of the promising automotive use cases of blockchain which can prove this fact is an extended vehicle ledger.

An extended vehicle ledger is actually a blockchain-based solution for storing, updating, tracking, and sharing vehicle data in real-time, throughout all OEMs and external parties. The vehicle ledger could store all details in the history of the maintenance and ownership of a car, thereby helping in the identification of instances of damage to the vehicle easily.
