# Can Chromium OS provides updates to a Chromebook device that has passed its AUE date?

I understand that Chrome OS doesnt sustain updates for older Chromebook models that has passed its AUE date. 
What about Chromium OS? If I install Chromium OS in my older Chromebook, will I get frequent updates from the Chromium community support?

Plus, do Chromium OS support android apps?

Yes , You can use Cloudready / Chrome OS flex.
