Continuous Backup:

MongoDB Atlas continuously backs up your data, ensuring your backups are just a few seconds behind the operational system. The platform provides consistent, cluster-wide snapshots of sharded clusters. With continuous backup, you can restore to any point in time or query your snapshots to rapidly restore a subset of your data.
Continuous backups are charged separately from your MongoDB Atlas instances. Pricing ranges from $1.50 to $2.50 per GB/month, depending on snapshot frequency.

Cloud Provider Snapshots:

MongoDB Atlas backs up your data using the native snapshot capabilities of the cloud provider. Your backups are stored in the same cloud region as your managed databases.
Backups using cloud provider snapshots are charged separately from your MongoDB Atlas instances. Pricing varies by region
