Totally! You can use an integration like Canva to design HTML templates that can be imported directly into Mailchimp.

I don't know if this is helpful or not, but I rarely use the standard mailchimp templates. I adjust all of mine using the html code in the background. Like using different fonts, adjusting widths, etc. It's not a ton of creativity, but it's some. If you don't know html coding though, I'm not helpful.
