# Android: How do you avoid fake apps on Google Play, and is there an iOS-style ban?

I like Android because it feels like I can get free apps, music, and ringtones without paying for everything. It also feels simpler to start using since you can just turn it on, add a SIM card, and go. The downside for me is that Google Play seems to have a lot of fake apps, and I’m not sure what the equivalent of a ban is on iOS. How do you personally spot or avoid fake apps on Android?
