# Aleph’s Excel and Google Sheets integration supercharges non-technical finance teams

Aleph has been helpful for abstracting away SQL complexity for non-technical finance users through its Excel plug-in, and the flexibility to work in both Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets stands out. It also seems to make it easier to build arbitrary data tables for different business use cases. For those using Aleph, how well has the spreadsheet workflow held up as your needs grew, and what has been most useful for your team?

For us, the workflow has scaled well because we can keep global assumptions and structured models in a familiar spreadsheet setup, with scalable formulas that don’t turn into a mess. The integration has been a big win since we can still do Excel reporting and pull data out in other ways when needed. One thing I’m still adjusting to is the Google paradigm, and I’d love a more obvious, easy-to-find dashboard once that’s available. Aleph is truly embracing AI and will save us time and improve our ability to serve our business partners.

For me the spreadsheet workflow has held up because I can save tables with my own custom mappings, so recurring questions don’t mean rebuilding pulls in Excel each time. Updating to the latest data is one click, which helps me get to numbers the same day. Having everything centralized as a single source of truth has reduced reconciliation issues and boosted confidence in what we report. And with Aleph’s MCP integration into Claude, I can work faster and produce better analysis.
