Hi Mandi! Tiffany here with When I Work Customer Care. The app only captures an employee's location at the time of Clock In and Clock Out. It does not actively track their location throughout the day. If Airplane mode is on, they are not connected to any cell/wifi service, or they have location tracking turned off (in app or in their phone settings), they would see a location error when trying to clock in or out from the app.

Since I am not an supervisor, I don't have Administrator rights and cannot answer your question with 100% certainty, but from what I've heard, the app is able to detect connectivity issues and notify your Administrator if you were not clocked in properly or you were clocked out by mistake. I'm sorry I can't give you a definite answer.
