Finding the correct starting budget for your campaigns is a little like Goldilocks finding the right bowl of porridge to eat. Spend too much out of the gate, and you risk wasting money before the campaigns are truly optimized. Spend too little, and there won’t be enough data to analyze what’s performing well and what’s performing poorly.

For most businesses getting starting with Google AdWords and Facebook Ads for the first time, $1,500 per platform per month should give you sufficient data to assess paid as a viable marketing option. This will provide you with enough data to optimize, while minimizing your financial risk early on in the campaign’s lifecycle.
