# Problem with Mailchimp automation (Custom Journey)

Hi,
we are also having extreme problems with automation in Mailchimp. We have a linear automation with the following steps:

1. enter Journey when tag is added.

2. delay of 1 hour

3. send email

4. delay of 1 week

5. send 2nd email

All points run without errors, only the sending of the emails does not work in some cases. It seems like the contacts skip the points where they are supposed to receive an email. The delay of one hour we have added on the advice of Mailchimp support, because the backend probably needs time to update the database. But still some contacts do not receive the emails. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution?

In many cases like this, factors like spam filtering, lack of domain authentication, or sender reputation can cause emails to be filtered or blocked by receiving servers. Make sure your sending domain is fully authenticated, and check your reports to confirm whether emails were sent versus delivered. Mailchimp’s support team can also help review specific cases if this comes up again.

Same problem with us. We have been trying for several weeks using a 4 step email journey with delays of 1 hour each. Sometimes 2 of the emails are sent and a few times 3 email steps are cleared. The 4th email has never been received.
