# How do I keep a stream active when my show has a pause?

I sometimes have a pause in between two sessions that are part of the same live stream. How do I keep my StreamYard session active while I await the start of the second half of my event? Using two links to the two halves of the livestream would negatively impact my engagement levels.

You can use a Be Right Back overlay image and play some music by using licensed music and let your chat know that you need to step away a moment or you can use engagement questions to get the chat talking amongst themselves as a possible way to keep them entertained and continuing to watch.
