# What is the best way to approach a candidate who cannot remember the dates of their criminal charges?

We have had instances where our candidates may have a minor conviction on their record from 20+ years in the past and cannot recall the exact details. This prevents them from completing the online forms.

Hi Anthony, You are not alone on this one. I always recommend having  candidates try their best and if dates don't line up our support team can help the candidate with next steps. 20 years+ is a long time to remember back but that's what our support team is here for!
