# What happens to Drive files if I lose access to my Google Account?

Google Drive makes it easy for users to store files of various types and sizes over the internet with their Gmail account.  Google Drive provides 15 GB of free storage service and can be added with a certain payment.

You will no longer be able to sync future changes to your local Drive files because your computer will not be able to authenticate to Drive.
