# How to instal the indicators mt5

I had several times having trouble installing the indicator

To install indicators on MetaTrader 5, follow these simple steps:

Download the indicator file in the format .ex5 or .mq5
Open MetaTrader 5 and go to File > Open Data Folder
In the opened window, go to MQL5 > Indicators
Copy and paste the downloaded indicator file in the Indicators folder
Restart MetaTrader 5 or right-click on Indicator List, select Refresh and find your newly added indicator in the list.
Once the indicator is installed, you can drag and drop it onto your chart to apply it.
