# New two-person culture consulting co. targeting mid and small cap needs CRM/lead/sales tool recommendation

I've recently started up a small consultancy that will focus on the mid and small cap market across industries within the US. I would like to build and leverage my business relationships (probably through LinkedIn) and also target sales introductions into the target market through my 1st/2nd business relationships. In addition, I'd like to track the migration of my network and leaders of past companies I've worked with.

I'm looking for pretty basic tools to help me identify leads, gather their contact information, and help me connect and establish sales calls. Then, I'd like to track my pipeline as leads turn into opportunities / sales and follow up automatically, or, at least, be prompted to follow up at the appropriate times.

After I get this basic process working, I'd like to explore some social media marketing as I get my book finished and other articles to help build my brand.

I've considered Hubspot for CRM/Sales/Marketing, Salesforce appears to be overkill by a long shot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator (which may not be exactly what I need, but could help me track execs and systematically expand my network), Monday.com as a light CRM dashboard tracker and Lusha or Zoominfo for more direct contact information within targets where my network is less established.

Since this is a startup, without investor funding, I want to start small and grow as my company grows.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Start with Hubspot! It is free and it comes loaded with data on companies. For example, if you add a new lead and enter the company's web address, key data are added automatically (annual revenue, main phone number, etc.). I believe it integrates with LinkedIn. If not, you can connect the dots via Zapier.
Hubspot is extremely easy to use and integrates with Gmail via a Google Chrome plugin (maybe also Outlook?) and/or allows you to use FWD or BCC to track emails sent via other apps.
Pipeline tracking is smooth and visually beautiful as it is arranged in Kanban-style and allows you to drag-and-drop deals from one stage to another.

Thanks so much, Corrina. I have a meeting with Hubspot in the morning. I also liked Pipedrive for an inexpensive option. I'll update the thread here after we decide. Thanks again.
