# How can I deposit to my Guusto Card before/after it's emptied?

I am wondering if I can use my Guusto card as a prepaid card? So I can have more control on purchase limits with desired merchants.

Hi Ali!

Unfortunately our Guusto cards don't work as a prepaid card! You'll have to make a selection for how much money you'd like to put towards a specific merchant and pre-select the amount. 

However, in the past I've had success with using our app to make a selection for exactly how much my items cost as I'm ringing up the merchant. For example, you can go to a store, grab 3 items of clothing and ask the cashier to ring them up. Then, cash in a Guusto card for exactly that amount of money (or a little higher) and then use it to pay for the purchase!
