# What is the best way to sort materials?

Do you all prefer weight, properties, alphabetical, etc?

I would start with sub-assemblies, then by part number.

You can sort using any property (column) in OpenBOM. Because OpenBOM is flexible, then you can add any piece of information and use it to sort. I hope you understand the question correctly. If not, please clarify or contact me directly oleg at openbom dot com. Best, Olg
