# How does it affect windows 10 if I don't install the optional update?

Microsoft keeps releasing windows updates almost every week. Other than security and feature updates there are multiple optional updates also released by MS. What will happen in the long run if I don't install my optional windows updates regularly.

Better to install optional updates, but if you don't want, you can. These optional updates include new designs, some security updates and more features. You'll get some non-optional update that will make you upgrade to the optional update with importants features, security patches and performances improvement.
