# If there is a way, how do I locate a call recording by telephone number?

I sometimes need to find a recording but it is lost in a sea of recordings and we have to listen to various ones to find the correct one

Hi Keith - This is possible with our APIs.  Step 1. Get the call UUID using the retrieve all calls API (https://www.plivo.com/docs/voice/api/call#retrieve-all-calls). Here you can filter by phone numbers.  Step 2. 
Fetch the corresponding recording ID using list all recordings API (https://www.plivo.com/docs/voice/api/recording#list-all-recordings) - by supplying the call UUID. If you&#39;d like to speak to someone in more detail on this, we&#39;d be happy to help: https://www.plivo.com/talk-to-an-expert/
