# Disable cookie banner?

Hey everyone:

I moved my web site to MailChimp a while ago.

Everything seemed good so I started looking at the settings.
I enabled their site tracking to see what it did. When I did that, MailChimp started putting up a banner on the site notifying visitors about cookies. I did not want that banner so I turned off the site tracking. But, the banner is still showing.

Does anyone know of a way to disable the banner?

Thanks!

If you’ve disabled the cookie banner, and it still appears on your website, you may need to clear your browser’s cache and cookies.

My understanding is that there is a law in Europe (?) having to do with what companies do with your personal information (GDPR) - for this reason I believe that we are now legally required to display it.
