# How can I get free version?

Reaper’s free and fully-functional trial period lasts for 60 days. After the trial period you will get a pop-up advising you it’s time to purchase a license. After a 5 second delay, the program will then allow you to continue using it in a fully functional state. However, it’s highly advised to purchase after the trial period. If you make less than $20K a year on your music, a license is only $60. 

Due to the 2020 pandemic, Cockos is also offering free licenses that are valid through Jan 2021 in order to promote social distancing. The license can be procured at the Reaper website.
