# I would LOVE to be able to make outbound calls using PLIVO I know its possible but I cant figure it out, what am I missing

Right now if I want to be able to make outbound calls I have to do an LOA and transfer them to my VOIP provider but they have some limitations that I would prefer to just be able to do outbound with the PLIVO numbers.

You can use Plivo PHLO to start making outbound calls.  Please refer to the voice notification guide that explains about making an outbound call and leaving a text-to-speech message once the call is answered. https://www.plivo.com/docs/voice/use-cases/voice-notification/. If you wish to use any programming language to start making outbound calls, please refer to the quickstart guides available here https://www.plivo.com/docs/voice/. Please note that it's not mandatory to buy a Plivo number/port your existing number to Plivo for outbound calls. You can use your current business contact number/your mobile number as the caller ID and start making outbound calls. However, if you intend to use Plivo for both outbound and inbound traffic, then you have to buy a Plivo number/port your existing number to Plivo and use the same as the caller ID for outbound calls. Customers will see your Plivo number/ported-in number as the callerID and can reach you back by dialing into the same number.
