# What is the easiest way to add on to the built-in content restriction options?

I want to display text to member when their content has expired. As it is now, I can only show/hide content based on the member being active. There is a big difference between an inactive member and a member whose subscription is expired.

Personally I use learndash groups attached to memberships to manage access to different courses
