# Is there a way to view documents in browser?

This would eliminate the temptation to reference document revisions downloaded locally.
Also, is there a way to elect to be notified of a change in status for a change you did not originate or have to approve? This would prevent one from having to continually check for a document's release.

Hi Ryan -
Most of the common document types can be displayed in a browser, e.g. PDF files, uncommon files, e.g. CAD files which need the application installed in order to view the file. As a best practice we always encourage our users to go to Arena to get the effective revision of a document.

For change notification when you are not approver, you can subscribe in the items wold, under the notifications tab, to a specific item and then you would be notified of all changes to the item, any changes to the item and the BOM the item resides in and even the indented BOM the item resides in.
