# How do I take control as owner of the meeting and give the turn to talk to people. I sometimes don't want everyone talking at the same time

Sometimes it is hard when everyone has the ability to talk at the same time. Depending on the type of discussion, having the ability to control this would be great.

Hi,
I think there is an intuitive way. You should notice that whoever is presenting has a green 'ball' on top of the name or photo. Just drag this 'ball' with the mouse to the person to whom you want to give the presentation rights.

Hello Patricia,
Thanks for asked to answer

I totally understand your situation when I used to take zoom session on BIM engineering for junior associates and intern they as a infant in BIM just ask the similar questions same time and create a lil chaos. For avoiding these kind of situation mostly I turned off the microphones of all and mentioned them to use the "raise hand" for queries & giving feedback one by one. This is very effective as Scott mentioned.Hope it will helpful Patricia Paredes.

When you are the Host of the meeting, in the participant's panel at the bottom of the screen you can click the drop-down "more" option and determine if participants can unmute themselves or not. You can easily mute all or click on any individual to unmute them. There is also a 'raise hand' feature that can be used by participants, so if you inform them in advance to raise their had for any questions, then you can unmute as needed :)

Good Morning! You can set up the meeting where the participants are all muted when they join the meeting. You can then unmute them after they use the raise hand. The chat is a GREAT way to ask a question and have the meeting moderator respond. The chat button goes to all the participants. Someone asked how to give the host option to someone else. The original host must to this. They right click in the upper corner of their screen and it asks if you want to reassign the host. You can then do so.

I agree with what Scott says. I think the most important thing, especially if this is a recurring meeting, is to lay ground rules for the meeting. Specifically, mention that, as the moderator, you would prefer that they use the "raise hand" feature or if they are in a discussion, that you reserve the right to mute individuals that are talking over others.
