# 3 things you look for while picking a software?

Let's face this. We get stumbled upon too many features, new updates, UI and a lot more. But what are 3 key things which help you layout the foundation for your platform switch or when you onboard a new software in your process?

Mine are:

Customer Service
Roadmap
Reliability/Data privacy

Lately I find it's important to me that I see a product roadmap as well as some form of communication with the users that shows that they are engaged with their customers and are fixing bugs or adding features that people really want.

I have found in the past some companies are adding things that they think will look good to their investors (company x does this, so we need to do that, too), and they're not listening to the people who are already using their software and paying them money.

Solid point, Matt. Communication is the "key" word here. I can appreciate a "heads up" if/when, for whatever reason, a roadmap (the milestones) are (likely) not going to be made.
