# I'd like to use it for my family and kids activities.  Are there no cost versions of video conferencing tools that doesn't limit user numbers or call time?

With the Corona Virus situations, I'd like to set up video conferencing for my family and kids to talk to their friends.  Are there any system that I can use, or refer to family and friends that won't cost them any money?  It'll likely help them adopt to the current situation and start using video conferencing more if there's no cost.

As far as I know, if you want to hold a Zoom meeting with no time constraints, you have to pay for it. It's not prohibitive and only one person, the host, has to have it.  Enjoy.

If you have the Office365 suite, you get Teams as part of the bundle. Zoom has a 40 minute limit per call but the calls are unlimited so you can just restart a call if it goes over. Takes less than 30 seconds.

Zoom is ideal for what you need. You need to create an account, which costs you nothing to start. Video conferencing on a free account is unlimited between two devices, and free for 40 minutes between up to 100. What many don't know is that you can stop and restart a meeting and go for an extra 40. As far as I know, you can do that more than once.
You can convert to a paid account and back. What I would do is set up a free account, get used to using it, then try a paid one for a month and see how you go.
There are lots of tutorials on zoom.us that will help you get started; they are short and well-made so well worth spending an hour or two on.
Best of all, Zoom doesn't try to sell you stuff because you have a free account, and their support is excellent. It's also useful to watch a couple of videos around how to present yourself on video - camera use, lighting and so on. Enjoy learning - it's a great skill to pick up.

Confirming what Mike said- you can rejoin the same call and extend the 40 minute meetings by clicking on the same link. I would recommend this platform for casual video conferencing with family and friends!
