# In the terms of web design, what is the benefit of Photoshop when compared to other apps like Sketch?

When designing a website, I was taught to use the Adobe products and use Photoshop to create the design. After leaving school, I have found countless other programs to use for web design and haven't used Photoshop for it since. For those of you who do use Photoshop for web design, what benefits do you see when compared to other applications for the same purpose?

Hi Jeremy,

I was taught the same when I was in college, but this was also when dreamweaver was a 3rd party app before Adobe acquired them.

Biggest benefit for me is comfort control of an app that I'm familiar with and the manipulation options Adobe has developed and improved upon in photoshop. With that said, though, I feel that there are other Adobe (as well as 3rd party) apps that would be a better fit for web design.

For me, Photoshop has always been my go-to for post-production when refining my photography or 3D renderings.

For web design, I will start with Wix or Google Web Designer.
