# Is there any commercial reason for not having option to downgrade the version of the files ?

As i told, Many people are facing this issue with the version of the Revit model between Architect, Structural and MEP guys.

When they release a new feature to Revit, such as the Path of Travel tool a few years ago, that tool can't go back into older versions of Revit. so if you had that placed in your model and tried to "downgrade" it to an older version, it would be trying to load a tool that doesn't exist in that version and it would break the model and more than likely corrupt it.
