When you want to recommit a component, go to the Copado User Story and click "Commit Changes" from there you'll be able to select re-commit from the drop-down and you'll also have the option to re-commit and create a new branch. What that does is it will start your feature branch from scratch removing any previous commit history. This needs to be done if you want to remove a component from a user story that already has been committed to.
