You can make videos or you can record a video and insert it into a slide and mark it to play automatically or when clicked on. Not sure exactly what your looking to do. 
Here is something I have done. I make my ppt presentAtion inserting video into one of the slides. Save my work as a PowerPoint presentation and the again as a PowerPoint show. Then I click on “Slide show” and then “Record slideshow” and it takes me to a recording session where you can set your timings for your video. Don’t know if this helps. Once done close out of the recording session and save as an MP4 .
