# Do you always follow SAP Fiori guidelines when implementing SAP UI5 applications?

Do you always follow the guidelines when implementing SAP UI5 applications or have you ever come across business requirements which necessitate, or where it is more preferable, to tweak parts of the guidelines - or even park them completely for a project?

Short answer: no.  

Longer answer (with more details!):

The SAP Fiori guidelines are fantastic and enable a solid foundation and deliver consistency across a whole landscape of SAP standard and bespoke applications leading to the delightful user experience that is one of the key tenants of Fiori development.  

That having been said, as with any guidelines, certain deviations make sense depending on the application, development and client involved.  

In some rare circumstances and situations, you can come across very specialised situations where a completely different set of guidelines are devised and are more appropriate.  

As a general guideline, the Fiori guidelines should be the baseline and default start point from which you can build on further.
