# Is my organization's data and information safe in the Cloud?

This is a fairly loaded question and it definitely depends. With cloud service providers in general, it's the provider's responsibility to secure the cloud itself, but the customer's responsibility to secure everything IN the cloud.  While the infrastructure itself is likely secured if you're relying on major cloud service providers like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, etc... you should have (or adopt) tools to secure and monitor configurations, assets, and workloads.

If this cloud is running strictly on your own infrastructure, you're really the only one who knows.

While the question is a little vague the answer I can provide is that as long as all the necessary safeguards are taken and you are working with a vendor that practices proper security and is compliant with all regulatory mandates then yes your data is relatively safe. If you are't sure about these things with your current cloud vendor then your data is probably not very safe.
