# How do I avoid accidental deletion of files on Dropbox ?

There were some instances when I accidentally deleted a few files on Dropbox and couldn’t restore the files which caused a loss of time and effort.

They had just updated the deletion availability now to 30 days I believe.  That gives you enough time to retrieve if you still need it.
