# Does WoodWing Assets support perpetual licenses and / or subscriptions?

The traditional model of buying software with a perpetual license is still being requested quite a lot, so we continue to support this model.

Other customers are asking for a more flexible licensing model. Subscriptions offer this in various ways.

- you can adjust the number of active licenses in line with actual usage / staff
- no investment upfront
- licenses are booked as OPEX (operational expenditure) instead of CAPEX (capital expenditure), circumventing lengthly processes to get the investment approved
