# Skip failed sync items without skipping entire folder

We sometimes have a file in a client folder that contains a file which is not being handled properly by Nextcloud sync. Now it stops syncing completely and waits for you to do something with the file before syncing again. Our current workaround is to keep the entire folder out of the sync process but is there a way we can filter out the single file that isn't uploading?

Hi,
You should be able to click the error in the log of the client. It should take you to the file in question - which might, for example, have a character in its name that is forbidden. I'd also suggest to try an update to the client - the latest 2.6.1 version has dealt with some syncing issues.

We will overhaul the sync error notifications in a future release, this is on our roadmap. If it is a frequent issue, you could contact our support team for a work-around or perhaps even a custom solution. See https://portal.nextcloud.com for this.
