# Why can't I store RAW files on Libris and users download toned JPEGs?

Without being able to store RAW files and have them converted by Libris, I'm having to save two versions of each image, and that leads to versioning issues. 

Also, the embedded links for galleries BARELY passes ADA requirements. We would like a better embedded gallery experience.

I think the issue is with the conversion engine.  As you know the settings on RAW edits are held in side car files and are proprietary. RAW edits in  Photo shop are different from ON1 or other editors.  Libris doesn't have the conversion engine.  It would be nice if they supported DNG files. 

My suggestion is that you create a mirror directory for RAW DNG files and then place a JPG or TIFF in the working gallery.  We do not keep our RAW files on LIbris but on our own servers.  I produce Nikon  NEF files and so if I upload them the xmp files are separate.  DNG files are better but much larger.    Having RAW files on the site  can cause problems with multiple photos showing up in the search as well.  The search engine doesn't give you much control.    I use PhotoMechanic Plus for in depth searches outside of Libris.  

I would love to see stacking, where the RAW is kept under the JPG and you had some control.
