# Can we monitor F5 load balancer and VPN Tunnels through WhatsUp Gold tool?

We would like to monitor our F5 load balancer virtual instances via WhatsUp Gold.
Also, we did open a case with IPSwitch to monitor the VPN tunnels which we are currently monitoring via another tool - PRTG monitoring. Is it possible via WUG?

Yes, you can monitor anything the device could populate data about. Note that, directly out of the box there are no built-in F5 specific monitors. However, with WhatsUp Gold you can create as many custom monitors as you’d like. In addition, you could add as many monitors as you’d like to any given device. For this, I would recommend custom SNMP active monitors and/or SNMP traps depending on the exact end goal.
