# What is the best way to report on social media engagement?

Our post engagement metrics on Facebook's reporting is completely different than Hubspot's. What is the most effective and important metric to understand and monitor when we're trying to consider if our social media channels are bringing in any traffic or revenue?

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the question! The numbers you see within HubSpot's social reports should reflect what you see within the networks, but there are a few things to keep in mind. I'd refer to this knowledge article to make sure that any of the notes mentioned there aren't causing the discrepancy that you're seeing.

As far as metrics that are important from a traffic/revenue perspective, I'd pay attention to the sessions report, as well as the new contacts report. This will show you how successful your social strategy is at driving traffic to your website, and how effective you are at converting that traffic into leads within the CRM.
