# How do I keep emails from ending up in people's spam folders?

I get very few opens and I believe it is because my emails are ending up in spam folders. The few clicks I have responses I have received have told me that they had to find the email in spam. I don't know how to stop this.

Each spam filter functions differently, so it can be difficult to determine exactly what's causing your email to land in the spam folder. Content, metadata, hidden code, and even your IP address can trigger spam filters. We always recommend using merge tags to personalize emails with your contacts' first names and making sure your domain has been authenticated, as these can automatically improve delivery rates.
